What’s the One Thing From Snowboard’s Past…

Continuing our Team features, this week we’ve asked “What’s the one thing from snowboarding’s past that you wish never went out of style?”  Check out what they had to say!

Diane Damra:  I wish that keeping it real never went out of style!

Kyla Sobieralski: The one thing from snowboardings past I wish never went out of style is a difficult question so I’ll give you another answer. One thing I hope that never comes back from the past is the clothes… I shudder at the thought of bringing back that steeze.

Megan Ginter: I say legwarmers.

Aimee Fuller: One piece suits, they look super cool and actually help your shredding, it avoids getting a wet bottom! although they are coming back now!

Diana Sciandra Distrola: thats a hard one ! I would have to say i wish real snowboarding films would come back instead of all these over produced, overly dramatic expensive movies that is only snowboarding clips not “real Life”! For example THE HOLY GRAIL have you seen that one? I’m sick of seeing pros become over marketed and over produced…yeah so they have a lot of money what about the rippers clawing a tearing there way to the top. Pros are not the only ones out there getting the footy….if I had an unlimited budget and travel I could get a good shots too and I bet anyone on the shredbetties team could as well! BLAH!

Mackenzie Matters: NEON! and side pony tails!

Randa Shahin: I miss the overall style of snowboarding back in the day.  The bright colors, the swallow tail boards, the then pros gaper style.  Snowboarding style has come a long way.

Angela Halo Wilson: The one thing I wish, that never went out of style, was style itself. Man, they had it goin’ on back in tha day!! Zinka.. bright colors… methods.. and those sunglasses!

Claire Hewitt-Demeyer: Snowboarding is a way to express yourself and your own individual style. Sometimes a rider who loves to show off their skills will wear a more vibrant outer wear to be more noticable in photos and on the hill.  I love that about most riders today!  This season when I would cruise into the Keystone park, it would be lit up by groups of riders and skiers in the brightest outer wear.  The colorful gear this year always made me smile.  As for snowboarding’s past that is one thing that I am glad came back into style.  The 80’s appearance.
One of my favorite tricks to do on the hill is called a Suit Case.  This trick was a very common trick in the 80’s.  some of my friends laugh cause I love popping off small lips and doing a Suit Case.  I guess you could say I like the old school style!  I really enjoy goofing off on the hill, this is one way I express that!  If you look at some of photos on the web site you can usually find a couple of shots of me doing a suit case!  please go out and try it if you have not before, I promise you will have fun!

i think that the whole bright color thing is way too overplayed and now the people wearing earth tones will stand out with their skills and not what they’re wearing… but thats me! i wish that wearing skinny jeans will never go out of style. i really don’t miss having wet pant legs!
