What are five things you’re thankful for this winter?
All the support from my parents, Society Snow and Skate in Revelstoke and Somewon Snow, a western canada competitors pass, Whistler/revy POWDER, my friends and the awesome parks in whistler.

What are your plans for the upcoming season?
I am in school right now but as soon as I am done I will be moving out to Whistler, in January.  I’m hoping to fly down to the states for some rev tours, and do the Canadian Billabong flaunt it stops and the Canadian Shields.  I want to hit big jumps!

What is something that you would change about the snowboard industry if you could?
Just more women out there shredding and more respect for women in snowboarding. You gotta take it for what it is and girls are really sending it now, and its awesome.

What advice do you have for girls who are about to try snowboarding for the first time this season?
Don’t be embarrassed to fall, if your not falling you’re not trying hard enough.

Competitions or filming?
I like competitions. I love them because it brings all my friends together and people who share the same passion.  You meet so many people.  I also feel like it forces me to progress and I love that. I would love to film as well, but I never have gotten a chance to go out and do much of that yet.

Who influences you in snowboarding?
The people who I shred with on a regular basis.  The people who are working there ass off to learn new tricks and progress. And I’ve always been a huge fan of Leanne Pelosi and MFR.

When it comes to snowboarding, describe your attitude.
I’m always excited and having a good time on pow days, never serious. When I’m in the park I have fun working hard to learn new tricks.  And I always try to encourage everyone around me to try new tricks and push themselves as well.

Best road trip you’ve been on?
My life has been a road trip since I’ve started competing and I love everywhere I go. The last three winters I’ve pretty much been somewhere different every weekend and I’m so happy I’m able to do that.  I got to go surfing on the Oregon coast which was awesome, and the Mt Hood trip with a few of the Shred Betties girls was so much fun.  I already miss those girls and hope I get to shred with them more! Spontaneous trips are the best.

Pre snowboard ritual?
Well, I go to the gym a lot before the season starts. But I usually wake up with just enough time to eat a bagel and get dressed, then get out there!

Off the hill, we could find you…
Baking cookies, I am really good at making sweet treats.  I like knitting and doing crafty stuff. I also go to the gym a lot.  I just fell in love with mountain biking but don’t have a bike.. yet.

Pirates or ninjas? Ninjas

Favorite ice cream?
I have recently discovered Ben and Jerrys “If i had 1,000,000 flavours” Its delicious.

Top 10 music list
I never update my music library, but I’m into old catchy songs like Hold on by sam and dave for example. I like everything from Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, Beyonce and Taylor Momsen.

Who is your celebrity crush?
Nic Sauve

If you could have a superpower what would it be?
Super strength like superman.  I wish I was bigger and stronger all the time.

What’s your sign?

Why do you think Shred Betties is important to women’s snowboarding?
Because it provides a community for us women
