Review: 3CS Celsius Jacket and Preset Pants
3CS Celsius Jacket and Preset PantsThis season, we had a chance to check out Australian outerwear company 3CS. At first this brand was only available down under, but with it’s recent expansion into the Canadan market in 2008, expect 3CS to be in US markets soon.
Why is this company so unique? Tech Specs! You won’t find anything less than 15k/10k waterproof/breathability ratings on their clothing, and seams are fully taped. Nothing beats keeping dry all day long. And unlike a lot of other techy stuff, they maintain bright color options and fun styles. Tech + colors = we’re fans.
We tested out the women’s Celsius 2L Jacket, and the women’s Preset 2L pants.

Our Review

Celsius 2L Jacket
Comfort & fit:
We really liked the lining of the jacket, and the fit was generally good. We especially liked the sleeves, which weren’t too tight, and allowed a lot of freedom of movement compared to some of the other jackets we’ve tried.
Waterproofing:
The 20k waterproofing is great - I’ve used this jacket as a rain jacket, and it kept me completely dry.
Features:
This jacket lacked a few features that would make it the perfect snowboard jacket: the powder skirt does not zip out, and there are no ninja cuffs..
Pockets:
We love the magnetic closures - definitely better than having snow stuck to a bunch of velcro! However, the sleeve pockets only have the magnet, and didn’t seem very secure. The jacket has several external pockets, but we felt it could have used more internal ones.

Preset 2L Pant
Comfort & fit:
The pants were a little tight in the ass, but had a generally good fit - not too baggy, not too tight. We also liked the weight of the fabric.
Features:
There was good venting, and pockets, and again we were happy to see magnetic closures.
Waterproofing:
Same as the jacket - kept us dry!
