Nikita Davos Jacket
{other_episodes} Nikita Davos JacketAngry Snowboarder has started tackling women’s gear and outerwear reviews. Check out what his female reviewer has to say about Nikita outerwear:
Hailing from the land of ice and snow is Nikita. The female specific brand that has always utilized that keen European sense to bring it’s style and colors to the snowboarding populace. We sent our resident hipster sister Kat out into the wilds of the Colorado snow to test this jacket and see what she had to say about it. Here’s her breakdown of the Davos Jacket.

Garment: Nikita Davos Jacket!
Resort: A-Basin
Conditions: Packed powder and chilly as fuck!
Size: Medium
Fit: This jacket holds true to a solid tall fit. I’m 5’2” and this jacket rides only a few inches above my knees. Personally, I find this jacket just way too long and awkward fitting. Normal women’s jackets are typically fitted at the hips, while this one is puffy around the midsection, making even the skinniest girl feel like a marshmallow. Not cool.
Waterproofing/Breathability: 10,000/10,000
Stitching: Solid stitching. Any seamstress would agree.
Pockets: So. Many. Pockets. They’re literally everywhere. The pockets on this jacket are probably my favorite feature. It’s not the pockets themselves that are rad, it’s the awesome magnets that hold them shut. No more dealing with anything getting stuck to Velcro, or having to snap pockets shut. The downside to these pockets is that they are bulky and only add to the overall “marshmallow” effect this jacket has.
Venting System: Double zippered armpit vents! Yep, these vents appear to be typical pit vents but upon closer inspection one can see that there are two zippers, allowing you to zip the vent up or down. No more awkward raising your arms in the air and looking like you’re doing the YMCA dance.
Zippers: This coat is loaded with zippers on almost every pocket and in the middle as well. Nothing is getting out of this coat, not even you.
Special/Hidden Features: I cannot stress enough how many pockets this coat actually has. They’re everywhere, on the arms, on the front, on the inside, hiding under the snow skirt. The handy level on this coat is at an all time high, not only is there a pocket for everything your heart desires, but the magnets on the coat are strong enough to hold all kinds of metal objects! Like scissors, your pass, keys, tools, and anything else that you probably need for arts and crafts time. Another thing that Nikita got right on this coat is the ability to cinch the bottom so that it is tight against your body. This is such a subtle feature that will save your ass (literally) in the future. It keeps snow out and keeps your butt dry all day and saves your car from the inevitable swamp ass that some other outerwear leaves you with.
Rider in Mind: Rider is not exactly the proper word for this jacket; I would say skier is more appropriate. The whole general style matches better with the baggy, tall tee style that is typical for a lot of park rat skiers. Nuff said.
Personal Thoughts: This jacket is comfortable, lightweight, and warm. However my main complaint is the general fit overall, I personally don’t like feeling like I’m wearing a dress when I’m getting my shred on.

What They Say: Nikita is so awesome they don’t give you a marketing spiel on why their stuff is awesome you just look at it and go booyah I want this. No seriously their catalog and website didn’t provide a marketing pitch. I say if you like longer cuts and bright poppy colors check it out.
