How did you get started snowboarding?
When I was little my cousin started snowboarding and I looked up to him for everything. My dad surprised me with a snowboard for my birthday and here I am today
What do you think of women’s snowboarding today? Where do you see it going?
Where do you see it going? It’s crazy to see how much the women in the sport have improved and pushed their limits in the last 5 years. I only see women’s snowboarding going bigger and better!
What tricks do you plan on learning this year?
I don’t think about what I’m going to do each day… I just go out and do what looks like fun. I’d like to improve my riding in all aspects this year.
Any good stories of entertaining or embarrassing wrecks?
Not really embarrassing… my long tumble down the hill in my opening shot in Creative Differences 2 years ago is my favorite. It almost looks staged!
What do you think the worst snowboarding trend is?
I’m not one to make fun of people… but I honestly do not like tight pants & ‘leg bags’, and all the extra ‘flair’. This is snowboarding… not some sort of fashion show. Everybody who dresses like that looks the same to me.
Do you think style should get more credit in the contest circuit, or should tricks be judged mostly by their level of technical difficulty?
I think contests should be judged by overall consistency, style, difficulty, and clean landing. If all those are close, I’d go by difficulty.
Up to anything other than snowboarding?
I love to skate when there isn’t snow on the ground and I play volleyball when I can!
