Urban Beanies
So rather than beating Kelly up over her meanie words about one of my favorite outerwear companies, I’ve instead decided to feature a Holden beanie for this edition of Beanie Thursday. Partially because I’m the non-violent type, partially because I’m pretty sure Kelly could kick the shit out of me. I think she has a black belt in something. So I’ll go the pacifist route instead!
Anyway, this week I present you with the Holden Wright beanie. I like it because it’s a slouchy pom beanie that looks like you could have picked it up at a thrift store. But since it’s a brand new beanie, there’s no chance of it carrying head lice, which definitely makes it better than an authentic vintage beanie.
It’s a hemp/wool blend, so it’s Earth friendly and warm. The fit of it is great, and it’s unisex, so you can pick one up for your boyfriend for Christmas, then conveniently be the one who always wears it. And then when he’s like “Hey, what happened to that awesome Holden beanie you got me? I haven’t seen it in awhile,” you can tease him about how careless he is and how he must have lost it when he yard saled on that easy blue back in January. It’ll be awesome.
Okay, I admit it. I’m totally biased towards Holden. They appeal to my artsy-farsty urban side, what can I say? If they would just make a streetwear line, I’d be totally set. Hint hint.
