Omatic 2010

Video: Tanya from Omatic talks about the Wiggle Stick, B.S. Technology, and Omatic’s collaboration with Boarding for Breast Cancer.

Omatic still has two women’s boards: the Super, and the Benetar.  The 2009 models of these boards both won high marks in our board test.  For 2010, these boards will be similar, but Omatic has reworked the shape of the Super based on rider feedback, so we’re hoping it’s even funner!

DearTragedy

what makes me mad is that Bataleon started this whole “no edges touching the snow” deal and now Burton and Omatic are doing it to as if their design is so unique!  I think they need to give a little credit to Bataleon for leading the way on this technology.

The Tragedy person must have gotten the wrong info….

Actually Smokin Snowboards started this tech way way way back before even the Banana by Lib. The Bataleon construction is completely different from the Wiggle Stick.  You should do some research before you make judgements.  Bataleon didn’t start the revolution of camber technology and the “wiggle stick is nothing like Bataleon TBT”.  Check out an old Kidwell from back in the day this is nothing new…

Don’t believe the hype.

DearTragedy

Actually I didn’t get the wrong info.  I wasn’t saying it was a wiggle board.  I know what the difference is between all these boards.  Perhaps I just worded it wrong.  I’d just like to see Bataleon get a little more props.  And what side of the bed did you wake up on, geezz!  No need to be so pushy!

DearTragedy

I love to snowboard.  And I love shopping around for boards that offer something a little more than your ordinary board.  That’s all!  I’m sure the Omatic with BS tech is a good board, it’s a good design.

Here’s some food for thought for both of you.

TBT is only from past the inserts to the contact points and flat between the feet, its also noticibly wider.  The B.S technology runs maybe 2 to 3 inches wide up the center of the board tip to tail then rocker. Its mildly defined and I mean mildly.  When I was running my hand across the base it didn’t stick out like the TBT on a Bataleon.

Also no one individual company invented Reverse camber, rocker, camber, etc. etc. its something everyone has tweaked over the years.  There’s no correct way to do it and everyone is putting their spin on it.

I’ll be riding the Wiggle Stick in a couple weeks so I can comment on how it rides compared to a Bataleon.

After going to the trade shows I’m happy to report that it doesn’t really matter who came up with what when…What matters is that people are really hyped about this type of product and from what I hear every brand makes a totally worthy board especially Bataleon TBT.  I didn’t mean to sound pushy, you should try everything and I"m sure you’ll find the base tech board for your steeze.

Kindly your shredder friend!
