Freshies: Nomis Women’s Outerwear 2010
The Canadian brand Nomis has made a name for itself primarily as a streetwear company. You may recognize their hoodies, often selected for Hoody Tuesday: after all, how many other companies offer heated hoodies with sweet designs?
During the 08/09 season Nomis introduced men’s outerwear. This season marks their entry into women’s outerwear, and the lineup looks solid. Their jacket collection covers all the bases. If puffy jackets are your style, look to the women’s Down Jacket to keep you warm on those bitter cold days. Still looking for warmth without puffiness? The Nomis signature built-in heating system is an optional feature in the Contour jacket. How ‘bout some extra flair? Fur collars and custom styling appear on the Asym, and we love the hoody styling on the Stacy. All jackets have 10,000mm waterproofing and come in about four different colorways. Pretty impressive for a small company’s first women’s outerwear line!

Don’t let the fact that Nomis only has two options for snow pants get you down. The Contour comes in nine colorways. Yes, that’s right, nine different color options ranging from lime green to black plaid. We especially like the subtle recurring cursive “Nomis” that appears across the pant legs. Their second offering is the Denim pant, and no, they aren’t made of actual denim. They do, however, feature detailing akin to your favorite pair of jeans. The Denim pant only comes in four color options, but still in some fun colors such as bright blue and purple. The giant Nomis logo at the bottom of one pant leg adds style and lets everyone know which brand you’re rockin’. Both pants come with 10,000mm waterproofing.

Nomis also offers two beanies, which we greatly approve of, especially the Tame beanie. They’ve also designed a glove, which is appropriately named “Glove.” There are four different color options for the glove, all of which ooze Nomis style.
