Back to the Board Test

DC - BFF (08/09)

FUN-O-METER RATING SYSTEM:
  • 1 = Unfun, booo.
  • 2 = Sorta Fun.
  • 3 = Fairly Fun.
  • 4 = Quite Fun, Yay!
  • 5 = SUPER EXTRA FUN!!! WEEE!

This was the softest board we tested.  One tester called it “rediculously soft.”
The super soft flex seemed to have resulted in a lack of pop, causing it to rate fairly low on the fun scale.  Several testers stuck a little “2.5” between the 2 and the 3 on the fun-o-meter, but we gave it the benefit of the doubt and rounded it up to 3.

Shred Betties Says:

This board is the only women’s board in the new DC snowboard line, and we think that made the board fit into the “it’s okay at a lot of things, but not great at any one thing” category.  Most testers felt that it lacked pop, and the flex was too soft, making it difficult to pick up speed.  However, they said that it would be good as a strictly jib board.

It might not be your best friend forever, but for a beginner, the forgiving flex and slightly directional flex might make it your best friend for a little while, at least.  Consider it especially if you have dreams of tail blocks and butters.

DC Says:

Tailored to the needs of female riders, this board might be your new Best Friend Forever.  The easy to ride, all-mountain BFF series features a softer flex and a narrower width.  It’s for ladies who spend most of their time in the park, but also like to hit the rest of the mountain.
