08/09 Von Zipper

This year at SIA (the annual Snowsports Industries of America conference) we had a chance to meet with one of my favorite goggle manufacturers: Von Zipper to see what they're coming out with next. We were stoked to see that they're releasing a bunch of new styles of goggles, in regular colors, and their trademark flashy and absurdly named colors patterns such as "graphic puke." Personally, I already rock the Feenoms, and love their huge range of vision, and they fit on my rather oversized head (my dad says it's because I have big brains), but those of you who've always thought Von Zippers too large for your more diminutive face sizes will be stoked to see 2 new spherical goggles designed to fit slightly smaller faces, but retain the awesome range of vision (and steeze) Von Zipper is known for. For those of you who like to sport the goggles and ponytail look, they've created more versions of their earmuff goggles, and released some funky new models in partnership with Skullcandy that have earphones built right in. Our esteemed art director once commented that she thought Von Zippers had a reputation of being worn by "popped collar douchebags"... so let's pop our collars, douchebag up, and try on some of these rad new goggles, shall we?

Feenom

Von Zipper's spherical goggle is back in a ton of crazy patterns and colors... as well as some nice neutrals for those of you who are a little more reserved. We loved this goggle's wide range of vision, and those of us with larger than average heads (and those who sport goggle sag) were stoked on the giant frame. Some models of this goggle are available with skullcandy headphones, or detachable fluffy earmuffs.

Skullcandy Feenom

Shannon tried on the Feenom with Skullcandys attached. The headphones can be removed if you feel like wearing a helmet or something. There's no music playing, but she kinda looks like she's rocking out anyway, huh?

Dojo

New for 08/09, the Dojo is a slightly smaller version of the Feenom, available in a similar range of colors. Some models also had earmuffs or skullcandys available, so those of you with smaller heads don't fret, there's radness out there for you, too.

Chakra

Also new for 08/09, the Chakra had a spherical lens, with a frame shape inspired by Von Zipper sunglass lines. This was the smallest of the spherical models, but the low profile frame still gave us a wide field of vision. Although not structly womens-specific, the Chakra came in some pretty feminine prints and we'd rate it the girliest of the line. It too had the earmuffs available.

Chakra

Our lovely model, Von Zipper's own GT demonstrates the feminine appeal of the Chakra goggle.

Bushwick

The Bushwick has been around for a while, here it is re-invented with some new colors and patterns. What, who doesn't want neon pink goggles?

Legit Kit: Feenom

Also new for 08/09, Von Zipper is releasing "Legit Kits" to help the style-challenged coordinate their ensembles. All of us who are getting sick of seeing kids whose fanny packs don't match their goggles are relieved that Von Zipper has thought ahead on this one. Also available in "backscratcher blue."

Legit Kit: Boarding for Breast Cancer

On a more seriously girly note, one of the legit kits benefits one of our favorite charities, Boarding For Breast Cancer. To appeal to us girls, it comes with a pretty coordinated bandana, fuzzy earmuffs, and a sleek goggle case.

Streetwear

Who can say no to a hoodie with an all-over sunglasses print? Not me!

Streetwear

The print is even cuter if you zoom in really close.

Beanies

GT models perhaps the creepiest beanie at SIA. We love it.
