If Ullr was a girl, what would she be like? In it’s second year runing, the "If Ullr Was a Girl" contest hosted by Whistler-Blackcomb in conjunction with the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival aimed to answer this question. From April 13th to the 15th, 12 invited ski and snowboard pros and 4 wildcards chosen from ifullrwasagirl.com battled it out on the mountain to determine whow was worthy of taking the title from the Norse god of snow. Forget about tiaras, these ladies were fighting for the ultimate crown: the Ullr Viking helmet and a $25,000 purse!

The first event was the Big Mountain competition. It was set to be held on Whistler's Chainsaw Ridge, but challenging conditions and several hours of delays forced the event to move to a section of the Jersey Cream Bowl called High Test. The top snowboarder was Robin Van Gyn, and Adriana Stufano took the top spot for the skiers. Poor conditions continued on Monday, with a foggy Superpipe contest. Top spots went to skier Sarah Burke and snowboarder Dominique Vallee.

Bev Vuilleumier had a couple amazing runs and took the top spot for the boarders. Kristie Geiles was number one for the skiiers. Afterwards, Ullr Unleashed closed the competition with a variety of arts and culture displays. Dominique Vallée took top spot with her piano number, while other ladies displayed their kareoke, painting and rapping skills.

Once the scores for the four events were added together, this years’ If Ullr was a girl winner was announced. Bev Vuilleumier from Incline Village, NV took home the coveted Viking helmet and 25 000$ prize with 53 points. The business student says she will use the money to fund her competitions and shredding next year. Second and third place also went to snowboarders, Dominique Vallee (50 pnts) and Robin Van Gyn (49 pnts).
