For an up-and-coming pro rider for our Women in the Industry series, we flipped through some of the photos from photographer Vanessa Andrieux until we found one that really caught our attention. This Austrian rider has a rather loud sense of style, and is known for her highly technical tricks in Slopestyle competition, including huge frontside and switch frontside 720's. She has been making a name for herself in Europe, and recently caught the attention of US snowboard fans by placing 2nd in the X-Games women's slopestyle, and was one of the only women who was able to consistently land the huge X-Games jumps.

Can you describe yourself?
I am a lil' piece of the puzzle, trying to find the right place to fit!

What did you think of snowboarding the first time you tried it?
Ouch!

How did you get started entering snowboard competitions?
In typical European fashion i grew up ski racing. When i got into snowboarding, i was still addicted to speed, So i entered my first boardercross, but the jumps kicked my ass. I was not about to let that happen again, and a new flavour was born, air time. Since then comps have helped me to push myself.

What's your favorite place to snowboard?
Austria: steep hills and amazing locations!

Pirates or Ninjas?
Ninjas, i like them, they are sneaky!

Ever had a really embarrassing snowboarding accident or fall?
Yeah, in france this year after a comp, a mate who i ride with a lot crashed into me. I was facing down the hill and she rode into me while I was standing, and made me do a backflip. I guess it was more embarrassing for her than for me, but it was really painful. It sucks getting hurt when it's not your fault!

What was your favorite competition last season?
Definitely the Intergirlactik 3-star Ticket To Ride event, it was amazing spring riding and the setup was great!

What is the coolest place you've traveled?
New Zealand, I like it a lot. There is so much space and it's not industrialized.

How did you like filming with the girls from Chunky Knit?
A bunch of girls cruising around to different locations, that was soo much fun. I loved it!

Any other filming projects in the works?
You can see me on Float (Neu Media Production) also in Invisible Contrast (Girl Riders Sweden) and again on the Völkl movie.
