VANS AND PRO-TEC PARTNER WITH BOARDING FOR BREAST CANCER ON SPECIAL PROJECTS
Women’s B4BC Snowboard Boot, Jacket and Helmet to Hit Shops this Fall
Cypress, CA (March 4, 2009) – Action sports and lifestyle industry leader Vans and top protective gear brand Pro-tec, are honored to announce three new projects for the 2009-10 snow season that aim to inform and educate our community about breast cancer. Partnering with Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC), a leading non-profit, youth-focused organization whose purpose is to increase awareness about the disease, the importance of early detection and the value of an active lifestyle, Vans and Pro-tec designed a limited edition women’s snowboard boot, outerwear jacket and snow helmet, with a portion of the proceeds going towards this worthy cause.
Fusing Vans classic styling with the most advanced technology, the all new Veil snowboard boot features Vans’ custom designed BOA Focus System, with bright, colorful embroidery and details including B4BC’s signature logo. Vans and B4BC also collaborated on a stylish Blanchett Insulated Jacket that comes in a rich black and metallic herringbone fabric and features a removable powderskirt and adjustable hood.
Also look for a limited edition Pro-tec B2 snow helmet featuring detailed graphics and B4BC’s signature logo. The stylish black and pink ladies lid comes loaded with performance features including SXP multiple impact lining, 15 screened vents for air flow and Plantronics Audio Force Ear Pad capabilities.
A portion of the proceeds from each project will go to the B4BC organization to help fund programs that serve to educate and empower the community on positive health practices and the fight against breast cancer.
“Vans has been one of B4BC’s biggest supporters having hosted our educational outreach booth on the Vans Warped Tour for the past 8 years. Vans team riders Hana Beaman, Tara Dakides and Cara-Beth Burnside have been long time supporters of our cause so we’re all so happy to see this relationship continue to grow and evolve into new ways of collaboration and support,” states Boarding for Breast Cancer Executive Director Justine Chiara.
Available in early fall 2009, the Vans x B4BC snowboard boot and jacket and Pro-tec helmet will be sold separately at board shops worldwide.
