Travel: Spring Cat at Bear Valley

With the season pretty much at it’s end, some are looking for that last ride and maybe even that last thrill before it’s on to summer activities. Bear Valley Mountain Resort is the place to be!! Until the middle of May they are offering Full Day Snow Cat Adventures for those determined to achieve that last adrenaline rush.

  The chair lifts may have stopped running but you can still get your shred on on each Saturday through the middle of May.  Will the help of local ski-guides you’ll experience trail and back country rides. You may be thinking, it’s almost May, how good can the snow be?? Well with 2 inches of freshies, there’s still plenty of riding left to do!

  The Snow Cat brings you up to the top of Grizzly Bowl with only a handful of people. Max riders for a day: 10. Shred your way down only to be brought to the top to do it all over again.

  As a warning, you may spend most of your day on the Cat getting to the top but those rides are sure not to fail your expectations. Reading through the registration form, I found that you have to have taken a back country course and be an advance rider. Though that may leave some out of the loop, it’s still a good opportunity for those ready and willing.

  At $120 a person, it’s not a cheap experience. But then some might ask themselves… How much is that last thrill really worth??
