Lindsey Jacobellis begins the race for gold

Olympic qualifying season is starting to heat up as winter approaches.  Aside from the well known half-pipe and slopestyle competitions taking place, a little less known event is holding it’s own.

Chapelco, Argentina held the season first Snowboarder Cross qualifying event on Friday September 11.  Lindsey Jacobellis ended qualifiers in 1st place making her the favorite to win the World Cup over the weekend.  With hopes for a strong start, she crashed after a loss of balance and landed herself in ninth place over-all.

With four more qualifying events to go, we can be sure to see more from this Snowboarder Cross betty!
